Thank you for taking the time to talk with me today!

 

Q: Tell the readers a bit about what you do?

A: I am an executive

 

Q: Where did you come up with the idea for your business?
A: I really wanted to help people without a lot of red tape. I knew that working independently would allow me to assist people directly without stipulations.

Q: How many employees do you have?
A: I am a solo practitioner.

Q: What types of clients do you have?
A: I have clients who are professionals who come from different disciplines. Some are executives, some are mid-level management, and some are individual contributors.

Q: When did you start your business?
A: I started Call to Career in 1993.

Q: What type of training or education did you get (if any) before you started your business?
A: Initially I obtained a master's degree in counseling and specialized in career counseling. More recently I took training at Career Coach Institute for career coaching, and I obtained my credential as a Certified Professional Resume Writer from the Professional Association of Resume Writers.

Q: What start up costs did you encounter?
A: Well, of course I had overhead expenses, but I also had advertising costs associated with getting clients.

Q: What obstacles have you faced in your business?
A: Getting a steady flow of clients is one obstacle I have faced. My marketing efforts have to be ongoing to keep the pipeline flowing.

Q: How many hours a day do you put into your business and how is this time spent?
A: I put in between 8 and 10 hours a day, dividing my time between actually working with clients and generating new business.

Q: What was the best advice you received along with way as far as your business goes?
A: Stick with it.

Q: What has been the key to success in your business?
A: My faith in God

Q: What types of marketing strategies do you employ?
A: Internet marketing, word of mouth, online business networking
